President

Diana Galvydyte took up the role of the President in 2022, after her second appearance with the orchestra as a soloist in Sibelius’s Violin Concerto. Diana has studied at the Yehudi Menuhin School and the Royal College of Music in London.

In 2009 Diana won the Windsor Festival International String Competition and has subsequently performed the Bruch Violin Concerto with the Philharmonia Orchestra at Windsor castle . In the USA, she made her debut performing Elgar’s Violin Concerto with the Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra.

Diana’s other performances include Buckingham Palace for HRH The Earl of Wessex as well as live on In Tune BBC Radio 3. Diana’s CD “A Different World” was awarded four stars by the BBC Music Magazine and in 2022 she starred in an award-winning short film “Fugue” as her acting debut.

Diana was professor of violin at the Yehudi Menuhin School for twelve years. Her students have subsequently entered the premiere Conservatoires such as the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia (USA) and Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London. Their awards in international violin competitions include Menuhin in Geneva 2018 and Rubinstein in Germany to name a few.
