The Cheltenham Philharmonic helped launch the 2013 Poppy Appeal for the Winchcombe Branch of the Royal British Legion on Saturday 26th October in a concert at Winchcombe School. The evening featured music from Titanic, Oklahoma and Carmen. We were delighted to be joined by Dame Sue Black who lead rousing renditions of Rule Brittania and Land of Hope and Glory as well as a selection of songs from 1953. Last year the Legion in Winchcombe raised over £10,000 for the Poppy Appeal and the orchestra hope we have helped get them off to a good start this year.
